Web facilitator's note: This is a letter to (submitted, but not printed in) The Lumberjack, the Times-Standard and the Eye regarding unsatisfied concerns with the integrity of the voting process.
The Police are to watch closely for broken glass, obstruction...call it in...and the City cleans it up pronto. This is the City's job...the equal protection of the laws thing. There's only one paragraph, as I recall. It is important point for me. The City told me that we people can call in...but it is City's duty...even in the sense that the Gov. that governs least governs best. It is a cop-out for us to have to do it...while they hunt down the latest pot odor call, etc. If there is stuff in the roads that disable your car it gets fixed faster than if there is stuff in the roads that disable your bike. Every day I see those signs that remind us that bicycle laws are enforced. This is hypocritical and inconsistent, and just exemplifies what is wrong with the establishment lips as in "read my lips and you can volunteer".
Evan's tape recorder was broken that night. I certainly do not blame him for a misquote; it is human error, no big deal. But that it is police duty is a fundamental point that differentiates what I'm about.
Get back to me if you want. I'd still want a greater discussion than "political campaigns" (yawn) as usual.
The Eye quoted me about election computers being uncheckable. This is a VERY IMPORTANT problem and I suggest we all have an interest in changing this regardless of our other politics. I interviewed Lindsey McWilliams, the Election Commissioner in Summer 2000, and he confirmed what I'd studied on these "conspiracy websites". They count the number of ballots cast at the precincts, then call in the number of ballots by telephone (often cell phone), and THEN take them down to that Elections bldg. and stick them in the computer, and whatever spews out is "the gospel truth".
Of course, if you study history/current events, you know that election fraud is the norm...so if we don't check something then I, personally, can't accept it as "an election". You see, if they know the number, they can replace the paper with whatever tallies if there is call to check the ballots themselves(!). Somebody pulling a fast one? This is what people are alleging and poor Lindsey confirmed it to me, and a certain Mr. Zuma on pirate radio in late 2000-2001 blew the whistle.
So why doesn't KHSU etc. carry this? Denigrating it as "conspiracy theory" when somebody like me checked it locally, and it was confirmed, is outrageous bigotry with excuse to censor further. The bottom line is, we should tally the ballots at the precinct level with multiples of witnesses real time. I've read they do this in Canada, or some parts of. We aren't saving much time with the computer system, and it is fraudulent: They tell us that it is "proprietary" software, thus we can't examine it. "Everyone" accepts that but me and the goal posts and some others...because if that is private then it is somebody elses' private selection and not a democracy of the peoplel, as defined. and the two-way modems, all the remote control capabilities. Only absurd prejudice can deal with this; investigations open up the box.
It dovetails with why they don't check photo i.d.s at the polls. After all, it's not a check lol! And it is serious business that I'm the only candidate you HEAR who is bringing this to light in Humboldt County.
