I look forward to the opportunity to participate in the established candidate forums. I feel, however, that they lack the space necessary for the kind of honest discourse and discussion that often doesn't exist in such pre-packaged affairs. We need more openness and informality so we can let go of the scripts and invite credible new ideas.
Let's put together more debates for deeper discussion before the election! Why not host forums where they have rarely or never been held before, such as Humboldt State University, or the Valley West neighborhood? Don't we deserve a full and free exchange of ideas between our potential representatives that does not impose?
